Gulf Shores Vacation

We're back from our family vacation in Gulf Shores, Alabama. We stayed a whole week, and it was great! I'm going to share the things we did, and places we ate. We stayed at the Phoenix West. I would highly recommend it for families! The rooms are spacious, with multiple bedrooms, bathrooms, living spaces, and a kitchen. Our room also had a large deck overlooking the ocean, with lounge chairs and a dining table. There is a lazy river, waterside, kiddie pool, and a zero-entry pool. The beach is just steps away from the pool area.

(All outfit details from the trip are linked at the bottom of the post!)

Day #1
We arrived around 2pm, and it was storming. We had outdoor dinner plans, but we had to be flexible with the terrible weather. We ended up just ordering pizzas to the room, and unpacking. We played "go fish" with Lux, and went to bed early. (We had been driving since 3am.)

Day #2
The second day was perfect weather! As soon as we finished breakfast, we went down to the water. The girls loved the lazy river, and the zero-entry pool.

I found all these cute drinks supplies at the Target dollar spot. I bought little napkins, fruit skewers, tropical straws, and mini umbrellas.

That night we went to "the Hangout" for dinner. They were setting up for a music festival, so there was a lot of equipment blocking the ocean view. They have a great area for kids to play outside. A huge sand area, tunnels, and even a foam party. The food and drinks are pretty average. I had a "shark attack" drink, which was too sweet, and shrimp tacos.

These wedges are so comfortable! I had a hard time pulling the trigger on these because of the price, but they are my new favorite shoes. I could wear these all day and night! Also, this color matches perfectly with tan skin, so they make your legs look so long and lean.

Day #3
Another beautiful beach day! We rented chairs and an umbrella on the beach, and it was so nice. The girls loved playing in a tidal pool, and using all their sand toys.

We went to Lulu's for dinner. There is always a wait, but it's pretty enjoyable. Kids activities, live music, and you can grab a drink from the bar. We shared a fried seafood platter and it was great. Shimp, oysters, crab claws, and fish. Served with fries, hushpuppies, coleslaw, and tartar sauce.

My favorite dress of the entire trip! I love the strappy details, and the waist really pulls you in to look tiny! I'm going to be wearing this all summer. Perfect for a vacation, dinner out, or even dress it down with sandals for a day-time look.

Day #4
We went to Picnic Beach for smoothies and acai bowls. This restaurant is the cutest. Turf flooring, and beautiful white picnic tables. They also have picnic blankets you can spread out on the floor, and tons of games to play. I would love to try the lunch here next time.

This dress is also from GoldyLox Boutique! The cutest keyhole detail, beautiful bright stripes, and a flattering tie around the waist. This dress would be perfect for all summer occasions!

After doing the lazy river and water slide in the morning, Cory and I had a date day. We took a taxi down to the Flora-Bama and the Flora-Bama Ole River Grill. The Flora-Bama is right on the beach, with picnic tables outside and cheap drinks. There is also live music in different areas of the bar.

Across the street is the Ole River Grill. It is right on the bay, with a view of beautiful homes and yachts. The food menu is much more extensive than at the Flora-Bama. We shared some smoked tuna dip and fried shrimp platter.

Day #5
We ate a Fin-and-Fork for dinner. If you're sick of the fried food on the beach, this is a great place. All indoor seating, with a more upscale feel and unique menu items. I had a delicious cosmo to drink, and ordered 2 sushi rolls.

After dinner we went to "The Track" to let the girls ride rides and play games.

Day #6
We went to souvenir shops, and made a Target run in the morning. After we did some errands, we hit the beach for some skim boarding. It was overcast and rainy, so we went to Lambert's for dinner. It's super fun for kids because they throw the rolls at you. Servers come around and pass out side dishes too. I ordered chicken strips with mashed potatoes and corn. The food isn't the best, but it's a good experience.

You need this bikini! I usually don't wear high-waisted swimsuits, but this one is great! The top is padded, and the bottoms really suck you in. I was totally bloated by the end of the trip, so I was super thankful I packed this! I think it comes in 28 different color combinations.

Day #7
We went to breakfast at Brick and Spoon. We ate here last time, but had to come back because it was so good. They have a unique menu, with a trendy vibe. I started with a mimosa flight which included classic, mango, and pineapple. We ordered the "bananas in pajamas" for an appetizer, and then shared the crab scrambler, parm truffle fries, and brioche french toast.

We went to the beach, pool, and enjoyed the sun the rest of the day. For dinner we went to the Gulf. This place was awesome. I wish we went earlier in the trip, because I was just getting tired by day 7. Haha! It's right on the water, with tons of sandy areas for the kids to play. String lights hung in the palm trees, and white sectional sofas right in the sand. The aesthetic is so great! The food and drinks are counter service, so you have to go up to order and then they bring your food to your table. We got a fish sandwich and lobster corn dogs. Both were great. Definitely a must-go!

After dinner we went to get ice cream at "Sweet Cone Alabama". Tons of hand-dipped ice cream flavors, and nice big tables to sit down and eat.

We love Gulf Shores for the family-friendly environment, gorgeous clean beaches, and fun/engaging dining experiences. I feel like it gets even better every time we go!

  2. The precise time required to get a passport is unknown, however it often takes between three and six weeks. The time it takes to get a passport is dependent on two factors: the nature of the application and whether or not the applicant has requested an Quick passport. This assumes that all questions have proper answers and that any necessary confirmations may be provided.

  3. Deflate the Roamer using the valve and camping gear nz pack it in its bag when you're ready to go home. It may be compressed to the size of a throw pillow because of its diagonal air channels, smaller than standard vertical and horizontal chambers. The 5.5-pound weight made it easy to transport from the car to the tent, and its compact size made it easy to store when not in use.
