Jurassic Quest

It's Monday morning, and I'm exhausted from the last 48 hours! My oldest daughter, Lux (4), is obsessed with dinosaurs. When I saw where Jurassic Quest was coming to Indiana, I had to get tickets. We had not spent much time in Evansville, IN before, so we decided to make a whole family weekend out of it.

Saturday morning we headed down and went to the At Home store. We don't have one in our town, so I always have to stop in when I see one. They have the cutest home decor, furniture, and seasonal items! I purchased some photo frames for a gallery wall I'm working on, and some new doormat options for my autumn porch.

Next, we stopped at the Eastland mall. Cory and I found some transitional summer-to-fall basics at Forever 21. There is a small children's play area, so Cory watched the girls burn off some energy, while I ran into Sephora for a couple items.

We went to Turnoni's Pizzeria & Brewery for lunch. It's right downtown, and has great thin crust pizza!

After lunch, we checked into our hotel. We stayed at the Howard Johnson right by the mall. It was an $80 Hotwire deal. Haha! It was clean enough, and fine for a quick stay with children.

For dinner, we went back downtown to Comfort by the Cross-Eyed Cricket. This restaurant was the most recommended to me when I asked for ideas on Instagram. The decor is very rustic-glam, and Lux loved the barn doors on the bathroom stalls. The food and service were pretty average. Overall, it was a good stop though.

We woke up Sunday morning at 5am! We quickly got ready and headed down to the free breakfast at the "Ho Jo" (Howard Johnson). The girls ate eggs, sausage, cereal, fruit, and waffles.

Jurassic Quest was a blast! I was very impressed with how organized everything was. We purchased Lux the VIP ticket, which gave her access to unlimited dino rides, moon bounces, and other activities. We got to meet baby dinos, and Lux got her face painted.

We stopped at The Rooftop for lunch and break from the crowds. We sat upstairs on their patio. The service was good, and the food was okay. We went back to Jurassic Quest for a few more hours of dino fun. Lux got a balloon, we stopped for dessert at one of the food trucks, and then we were ready to head home!

The girls had the best time on this little getaway! There's nothing like seeing your kids in amazement. It's awesome to watch how their sister relationship changes as they grow together. Trips with kids can really test your patience, but it is so worth it for all the laughs we had, and memories we made!
